Scollard’s next sale of arms, armor, and ethnographic antiques features a strong selection of Spanish and Mexican-American arms, many of which played a significant role in the southern and southwestern United States during the 18th and 19th centuries. Highlights include a rare 18th-century Spanish Trabuco military flintlock gun, a Catalan Stock Escopeta Percussion Rifle signed by Pedro G. in 1854, a Spanish Colonial Cup Hilt Rapier, a Spanish Bilbao Sword, a scarce 18th-century regulation Spanish broadsword, and an important Mexican "Armería Americana" sword, circa 1883-1918, featuring a characteristic hilt (pictured). Also featured is a rare Miquelet Flintlock Pistol from Ripoll, dating between 1760-1780.

Additionally, the sale includes Revolutionary War-related items such as a British Grenadier Saber with a basket hilt, a Hudson Valley Fowler flintlock musket, and a fine Hanoverian hilt form sword, circa 1750-1770, a style used by British colonial regiments during the French & Indian War and by the Tower of London Guard.

Other desirable lots include a rare Moro chainmail cuirass armor, a cased pair of box-lock percussion belt pistols by Richardson, Cork, an Ottoman "Sisana" Miquelet Flintlock Rifle, and an excellent 18th-century flintlock carbine with an expanding stock. Click the image for a link to the sale.
