SAN GIORGIO ASTE, ANTIQUE ARMS AND MILITARIA, FEB 23RD
San Giorgio Aste’s next sale on February 23rd has a wide ranging catalog that includes arms and amour spanning many centuries and from different cultures and historical context. . Early European amour includes a nice selection of 17th cent helmets, breastplates and polearms, in addition to medieval and gothic swords, among them a rare estoc. Russian arms offered include a rare Cossack tunica as well as an ivory hilted shaska’s and kindjals.
The wide section of European sporting arms includes early wheeleock examples, a magnificent Italian example with Spanish barrel by Pedro Esteban, Austrian and Bohemian examples, a fresh silver mounted double barreled flintlock with waterproof pans and others. Among British and American guns offered are rare Remington Nagent Papal carbine, a rare British Roberts conversion breech loader and several pairs of pistols.
