Landshuter Rüstkammer is holding a two-day auction at the end of March that includes 1400 lots of fine and rare antique European and eastern arms and armor, medals and militaria as well as first and second World War collectibles from private German and Austrian estates.
For collectors of early antique edged weapons, there is a large selection of daggers, early swords, rare rapiers and fine smallswords of all kinds, dating from 900 to 1750. Pictured is a fine silver mounted German or Italian rapier C, 1600 one of several superb early swords in the sale. A good selection of European closed helmets, shields, two suits of armor and other pieces of armor are included in the sale as well as hunting swords, early crossbows and several wheellock pistols and rifles. Included in the guns is a rare Augsburg breech loading wheellock rifle C. 1630. One of the very attractive earlier lots in the catalog is an original and very rare Pavese circa 1470 from Klausen Südtirol.
