A pair of saw handled double barred flintlock pistols by Manton of London are one of the attractive lots offered in Herman Historica’s nine day sale of arms armor and militaria that starts Mazy 1st. The sales include historical artifacts from antiquity all the way WWII miltaria and collectibles. Other antique guns that will command high estimates include early Saxon highly decorated wheelocks, a Dutch four barreled pistol C 1660, a south German grenade gun C 1601 and a magnificent pair of pistols form the armor y the Princes of Lobkowitz circa 1730.
Armor in the sale includes a full composite armour of the Augsburg type, a mid 16th cent shaffron and a northern Greek Illrian helmet circa 4th cent BC. Among the edged weapons are a selection of rapiers hand-an- a-half swords, sabres, hunting words, court swords and daggers. The sale also comprises of a wide range of eastern and Asian arms, collections of uniforms, crossbows, axes and maces.
