Czerny’s Auctioneers present an unparalleled selection of historic arms, armor, and artifacts on Feb 14^th. Among the antique firearms highlights is an important sporting wheel-lock gun from a noble armoury, dating back to the 16th century and having provenance from the Art Institute of Chicago. This exceptional firearm represents the height of craftsmanship and the traditions of sporting pursuits. Additionally, offered are an unusual  17th-century wheel-lock rifle, with German provenance, a scarce Remington revolving percussion rifle, a beautiful example of American ingenuity, alongside an equally rare Devisme percussion revolver, renowned for its elegance and technical innovation.

Also offered in the sale is an extremely rare breech-loading flintlock sporting gun by Jacob Perret, a piece that highlights the fine engineering of early firearm technology. For collectors of medieval and later weaponry, there is a knightly sword from the 13th-14th century, a 16th-century rapier with Saxon provenance, as well as a 16th-century European broadsword with pierced quillons. A hand-and-a-half or bastard sword from 16th-century Germany will also be available, offering a combination of beauty and utility from the Renaissance period.

Also, a beautiful Bavarian hunting hanger, adorned with finely carved iron mounts and floral motifs depicting deer and hounds on a gilded background, will be a standout piece in the sale.
