posted by editor@armsandarmoruauctions.com at 2024-12-04 11:18:00

Czerny’s Auction in Italy is holding an important two-day sale of fine antique arms and armour starting on December 12th.
Day one features a wide range of 19th-century firearms and edged weapons. Among the highlights are several fine and are kerises. One, from Bali, has a beautiful pamor blade and is embellished with gold silver and rubies. A second, royal example is dated to the 16th century. Other notable swords in this sale include a Russian M1827 sabre with a finely etched Persian blade, a fine French First Empire sword by Fatou, a sabre from the Swiss Guard of Augustus II (circa 1725), a massive 18th C. Polish or Hungarian Hussar sabre, and a Polish cavalry sabre dated 1791.

The first day of the sale also includes many American guns, such as a cased Colt Dragoon pistol, a brass-framed Henry rifle, a Volcanic lever-action pistol, a martially marked Colt Third Model Dragoon revolver, a selection of S&W and Remington pistols, a Hall flintlock breechloading rifle, and a Spencer repeating rifle.

Day Two of the sale features earlier European arms and armour, as well as Japanese and Persian swords and daggers. Among the top lots are Scottish and German two-handed swords dating to the 17th century, a superb etched morion helmet, and several composite armours. Also offered are a pair of over-and-under flintlock pistols by Borion, a superb Italian snaphaunce carbine, an Austrian wheel-lock rifle, and a fine German 17th-century matchlock rifle.
